The Power of Teamwork: Two Successful Businesses, One Amazing Life
originally aired on my podcast, “The Fearless Creative.” It’s a very special episode where I interview fellow entrepreneur — my husband — Ben Thornburg.
Ben has been self-employed for seven years and has used his background in framing, carpentry, and woodwork to build a business around real-estate investments. He tackles properties that are deemed too risky for the average homeowner to buy and gives those properties some much-needed TLC.
While he is not a creative entrepreneur in the traditional sense, what he does requires a great deal of creativity (not to mention sweat equity). I’ve been wanting to interview him on the podcast for ages, and he offers some amazing insights that I think you’ll want to hear.
On this episode, we discuss:
Why you shouldn’t discount your existing skillset and passions. Sometimes you can use what you already know to build a very successful business.
The importance of discipline to any entrepreneurial endeavor — and the surprising way Ben developed his amazing discipline.
The perks and challenges of being an entrepreneurial couple with no 9-to-5 and no steady paycheck.
The power of teamwork: how we lean on each other’s strengths and compensate for each other’s weaknesses.
Why having wildly different personalities can be a huge advantage for any entrepreneurial couple.
Because this was an informal interview, there is no transcript to go along with the episode. But I highly recommend that you give it a listen!
You can get listen directly from your PC here or get “The Fearless Creative” on Apple Podcasts, Google, Spotify, or your favorite podcatcher. (If you don’t know how to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, I’ve got a wonderful little cheat sheet here.)
